Why We Exist

Local Community Empowerment

Making Change Possible

•A key challenge in our country is creating a sporting platform where all kids can actively participate on an equal level, in a sport that they are passionate about, good nutrition and teaching the correct techniques required by qualified coaches and mentors.

•Another challenge we experience in South Africa is investing time, skills and proper training by professionals to the South African youth and communities.

•The aim of the Sport Goes Rural Foundation is to take rugby training to our local communities to reach a larger audience.  Traditionally sport has been exclusive to well established schools only or sport facilities – we want to change that. We want to provide the correct sport training by qualified coaches to the kids.

•By doing so, we will provide the kids with a feeling of purpose, belonging to a group where they feel safe.
This could be the opportunity a child has been longing for, taking them “off the streets” and offering them a different opportunity for their future.

Creating Opportunities

Change for the Better

•It is our duty to change the current sporting playing field in South Africa – it is the right thing to do.
We have the talent within our South African Youth, but they need nurturing, conditioning & it must be sustainable.

•With the correct attitude & the will to succeed, anything is possible.

•We want to create more opportunities, with the support of our partners and through the SGR Development Foundation, in order for local school kids in established and underprivileged communities to achieve their best possible future.

•May that be through a career in Rugby, netball or soccer, as a player or a coach.

•The training and coaching the kids will get from a Grassroots level,  through this platform could shape the future career opportunities for the kids.
